Silver

A "silver CD" refers to how the data is transferred to the disc. If the bottom is blue/gold/green/etc (except in some special cases where a commercial release will be a gold CD) it's usually a CD-R, and anyone could make it. There are CD-Rs available with images printed on the artwork side of the disc using special printers, so that alone is not enough to discern whether or not it is a silver CD.

There are several ways to check whether a CD is silver-pressed or CD-R:
1) The most common and obvious way is to look at the bottom -- if it's any color other than silver (and occasionally gold for some special commercial releases), then it's definitely CD-R. But there are some CD-Rs that are silver-ish, so this alone isn't enough to say definitively that it's a silver-pressed CD.

2) Check for a matrix code printed onto the silver side of the CD around the center ring. Silvers will have this, while CD-Rs will have the matrix code printed on the inner-most ring (often made of plastic):

Here's a bit more reading on the difference between the two, although is mostly discussing official CD-R releases, rather than bootlegs:

This Y Kant Tori Read bootleg was made by Pacific Records (a pun on the original Atlantic label). The poor quality artwork, Pacific label, incorrect catalog number, and bonus tracks are clues that it is not official. The back of the insert also contains the satirical "instructions" for caring for CD's that is common on many YKTR bootlegs. There are a few differences on this one in comparison to this similar Y Kant Tori Read bootleg. The first and last numbers that appear on the barcode (0 & 9) are printed at the same size as the other numbers on this one, where they are printed smaller on the other one. The first line written on the back page of the booklet contains the typo "loohing" instead of "looking," and the catalog number doesn't appear above the "Pacific" logo on the same page, where it does on the other one. Additionally, the booklet unfolds out on this one where it is a stapled booklet on the other one. Matrix information states "Made In Taiwan" while artwork states "Printed in Nepal." IFPI SID codes in matrix match the Taiwanese pressing plant "U-Tech Media Corp." This bootleg also houses the similar "Unreadable Tori" disc that came with this bootleg, however it contains additional information in the matrix area that doesn't appear on the other one.
